Proposed deletion of Obama stimulus plan
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Obama stimulus plan, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- WP:CRYSTAL. At this point the plan has been suggested, but until it happens—until the man is even president—there is no way now to know that this will happen.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —Largo Plazo (talk) 02:46, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for that message. Yes in the diagram on that page the third glacier is Smith Glacier. Hi,
in this interesting article, you write:
- Nonetheless, theories with more than one dimension of time have sometimes been advanced in physics, whether as a serious description of reality or just as a curious possibility.
Do you know any serious research (physical or philosophical) on the hypothesis of a three-dimensional reality, which can either be described in means of matter in a three-dimensional space or of matter in a three-dimensional time - i.e. space and time are just different aspects of the same three-dimensional thing (and the human concept of four-dimensional spacetime is just a perceptive illusion, which is reflected by our current level of mainstream physics)?
Any hints will be appreciated!
Peter --217.87.128.221 (talk) 11:18, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- No. I do not think the idea makes sense. However, see "Nige" on D R (Danny) Lunsford here. Mporter (talk) 03:43, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- I will try to be more specific. Various people have said that subjective time is three-dimensional (example). Various people have also said that only space exists (example). Various people have also tried to reduce space dimensions to subjective metaphysics (example). So maybe you can combine such perspectives, perhaps in a monadic framework. Probably what you say has already been attempted or asserted by someone somewhere. But it sounds somewhat artificial and contrived to me. Mporter (talk) 04:10, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- So maybe you can combine such perspectives, perhaps in a monadic framework. Yes, I think that is what I am looking for. I was not speaking of "dimensions" in terms of human space-time-perception, but as of properties of the underlying framework (an utterly strange thing, which probably exists, as Kant noted in his Critique of Pure Reason: If there is a perception, then there must be something which is percepted and which can be thought [in terms of its properties]). Maybe it is misleading to call these properties "dimensions", and new terms have to be found.
- Thanks for your thoughts. The Teruaki Nakagomi models look very interesting to me. If you encounter anything more which sounds like what I described above, I would appreciate if you could leave me a note here! -- Peter --217.87.170.183 (talk) 11:36, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Mporter! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 331 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Speedy deletion nomination of 2000s commodities boom
[edit]A tag has been placed on 2000s commodities boom, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 82.18.196.185 (talk) 05:30, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
The article Lorraine Lisiecki has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 23:48, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Nomination of Alternative theories of Al-Qaeda for deletion
[edit]A discussion has begun about whether the article Alternative theories of Al-Qaeda, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alternative theories of Al-Qaeda until a concensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. ScienceApologist (talk) 23:18, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
The article Ryan Williams (computer scientist) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ttonyb (talk) 04:56, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

The article Postmodernism Generator has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable web service. Unlike snarXiv, which is completely non-notable, PMG has at least a minute claim to it, so I've put it up for PROD instead of CSD.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Speedy deletion nomination of Mikhail Khazin
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mikhail Khazin, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. (See section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Hello, Mporter. Thank you for your work on Non-invertible symmetry. Acebulf, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
I am not convinced this should be a standalone article. Would you be opposed to merging it into Symmetry (physics)?

- Will add a bit of justification here. I agree that the topic is notable, but I am concerned that the article will never reach critical mass as-is. By merging into a larger article, (e.g. Symmetry (physics)) we get 30x the amount of page views, or 30x the likelihood that someone actually fleshes out the section, which we can then split out into its own article. Those numbers are accurate to the Summary (physics) page. What do you think? Acebulf (talk | contribs) 23:31, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Acebulf: Whether or not the page is merged, Symmetry (physics) needs a section on "generalized symmetries", which along with the non-invertible symmetries, would also mention "higher group symmetries" and "higher form symmetries". I will think about adding something based on arXiv:2205.09545, then we can see how everything looks. Mporter (talk) 07:53, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
